Pumpkin Bread

This is an old family recipe and one of our favorites.  I may actually be in big trouble for sharing it, but that’s OK, I thought you deserved a treat.


2 eggs

1  1/2 cups sugar
1 cup pumpkin
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup Stöger Pumpkin Seed Oil
1/4 cup water

Mix with an electric mixer until just combined.  In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients:

1  2/3 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Add dry ingredients slowly to the above.  Pour batter into a greased stone loaf pan.  Bake approximately 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.  (Truth is, I take it out before it is clean because I prefer the center, just undercooked).

Tip:  Double the recipe and make two loaves.  The first loaf will be gone before you reach in the over to pull out the second!
